Interview # 4 Haywiregrenade Iyanden Army

Hi Today we speak about the Iyanden eldar army of Haywiregrenade.

Since how many time are you working on this army?
I have been working on my Eldar for about 6 years now. It started out as a 1900 point army for a Warhammer 40k Campaign weekend run by GW and "Darkstars", the GCN Weekend event organisers. It then became an obsession which has grown ever since.

Have you an army list for more details on its composition?
The original 1900 list was comprised of 2 parts
A 400 point combat patrol and a 1500 main army that combined to make a single 1900 list.
It was something like

Must admit, its been a while since that list was created so memory may be a little hazy. It by no means is a competetive "meta" list.

My normal gaming army is 2000 points and varies from week to week depending on my mood. It always contains 20 Dire Avengers and a Farseer. Then it could vary from being all Mechanised to all on foot with lots of Wraith constructs.

Since how many time are you in the hobby?
Over 20 years I would say on and off. I started with Blood Bowl about 25 years ago, took a break through senior school and university and came back to it 15 years ago.

Why this army and not an other?
Like all GW fanatics, this is not my only army. I also own a 4000 point painted Space Wolf Army (actually its my second one), 5000 points of Blood Angels which is growing rapidly, and plenty of Chaos and other bits too. However this was the one that I deciced to take "Apocalyptic" because the Forgeworld model range is just too amazing to ignore! 

What's yours future projects?
I have plenty on the go nearly all the time and paint pretty much 50 weeks of the year. I still have about 10,000 more points to add to the Eldar (sitting at 12,000 painted right now) including a Vampire Hunter and a Waithseer. I also have about 3000 more points of BA to do and some Thunderwolf Cav for the SW.
I also just picked up Dreadfleet, and some new Tomb Kings stuff! Busy...

Would be it possible to have a photo of the entire army?
It is very difficult to take a picture of 12,000 points of models. There are some pictures on Warseer but not a huge group shot. In 2 weekends time I'll be using 7500 of my army in a game, so i'll be taking pictures then and will add to my Warseer gallery. Feel free to come back and check them out!

And other commentary if you wants ?
Ummm, not that I can think of really! I got married to the love of my life this year?! I like going on holiday to hot countries :)

How many times you paint?
I paint for about 2 hours a day 3 days a week, and a bit longer at weekends depending if my wife permits it.

To part say that this army to eldar of Iyanden is magnificent, it would be necessary it's a pity not to speak about the freshest project of Haywiregrenade which does not miss size and what it would it's  pity be of don't speak about it in this blog Apocalypse.

Interview # 3 Mr Scratch & Sniff Iron Warriors

Hi!
Today we go to a chaotic project, start by Mr Scratch & Sniff, this English of 29 years old build an impressive iron warriors army, an opportunity to cross this post of highly-rated dark of the chaos.

Since how many time are you working on this army?
Started working on this army last April. I had previously sold an Eldar army and used the funds to purchase a new one. I have always been a fan of Chaos, particularly Iron Warriors, so decided to 'jump in' and give it a go!

Have you an army list for more details on its composition?
I do have an army list but it is constantly changing so will have to get back to you on that one.

Since how many time are you in the hobby?
I was first introduced to 40K back in 1994, where I recieved a copy of 2nd eddition 40k for a christmas present. I have been hooked ever since and my passion for it is still growing.

Why this army and not an other?
I have collected a number of armys over the years (pretty much all of them infact!) but never had a Chaos one. Which was silly because I am a big fan of the 'bad guys'. So, as mentioned earlier, I purchased my first models last april and since then the army has been getting stronger and stronger.

What's yours future projects?
As to the future, still sticking with Chaos, I'm going to re-paint my army with the new scheme I applied to my recently painted Reaver Titan. I would also like to include some squads of mkIII armour and some Rogue Trader Vehicles to have a pre-heresy theme.
I need to finish my ThunderHawk, maybe even buy a real one! And I really fancy turniing one of those Contemptor Dreadnoughts in too a chaotic nightmare!!
So lots and lots to do yet!!

Interview # 2 Marco Svizzero Blood Angels

Hi every body!
Today we are going to evoke the blood angels army of Marco Svizzero.

Since how many time are you working on this army?
I have been working on this army for over two years. Painting each blood angel takes around two and a half hours, so it can be pretty laborious painting red all the time so I branch out on side projects often.

Have you an army list for more details on its composition?

I am structuring the army around the blood angels 2nd company and support units. The army will have 100% of the 2nd company and about 30% of the 1st company and 20% of the 10th company.

 

Since how many time are you in the hobby?

I have been in the hobby for 15 years.

Why this army and not an other?
I started the blood angels when GW released the updated 4th edition mini codex in White Dwarf. Blood Angels were not a popular army before the codex came out and I just wanted to give them a try.

Finally what's yours future projects?
I will be painting some Astral Claws and more Red Scorpions on the side for a Badab War Campaign. I am also throwing around the idea of painting and converting all of the badab characters. Outside of the warhammer world I have been spending a lot of time working on building and tuning my car.

Interview # 1 Abraham Danglebreech' Battle Board

 

Hi all, here is the first interview which I hope for it will be the first one of a long series.

Abraham Danglebreech delivers us his secrets on the table building.

He possesses at present an army of strange marine and an army of ork which will make probably the appearance on the next interview because the originality and the execution of the painting are really nice.

Q : "what's material do you use to make it?"

A : a Realm of Battle (obviously :D). The texture was made by first using "golden pea gravel" for the larger rocks (mine came from a garden centre) which I stuck down with Araldite. I then used a sieve to scatter a layer of builders sand (from work) over the bulk of it with PVA glue. The grass is a mix of Citadel Dead Grass stuck down in patches with PVA, and the same again but stuck down in clumps using a blob of Citadel Plastic Glue. The tussock grass is Army Painter Highland Tuft and Winter Tuft.

 

Q : "what the approximative final price?"

A : I wouldn't like to say! I managed to get the Realm of Battle for a pretty decent price at Wayland Games. The PVA, sand and gravel I had already. I probably got through two pots of Plastic glue and one lot of Araldite. I used one tub of Dead Grass and about 5 or 6 packs of Army Painter Tuft. Oh yes, and lots of paint.

Q : "How many time to make it?"

A : Pretty much three weekends and all the evenings in between (actually, it may have been more like 4 weekends, can't quite remember)

 

Q : "What was your choice of ground and why this choice?"

A : I wanted to make the board for both fantasy and Sci Fi, so I couldn't add much to it that was specific to a particular genre. I have been basing my Orks, Marines and Fantasy stuff with a moorland theme and so the board started out as being inspired by the landscape about me (moorland with rocks). However, the bulk of the work on the board went on during the riots over here in the UK, and that may have had some influence on the finished look. (I reckon they look like large pieces of burnt toast!)

Q : "What's yours future projects?"

A : At the moment I am trying to get the Marines from Assault on Black Reach painted in time for a game next month. A few of us are giving it a go (I am the only one with any experience having played it all of once!). I also have a Beast of Nurgle conversion to finish. After that I'll probably go back to painting my Orks for a while and get some terrain pieces done for the board. I have an ongoing project which I dip in and out of where I am converting every mutant that appears in "The Enemy Within Campaign" for Warhammer Fantasy Role Play 1st edition. It's taking A G E S !
